REFORM UK ANNOUNCE THEIR CAERPHILLY CANDIDATE

Llyr Powell

Good day to you all...

The situation in Caerphilly is not just a symptom—it’s a glaring indictment of Labour’s entire rotten legacy in Wales. Year after year, Labour has waffled and floundered, failing to confront the recurring disasters hammering ordinary Welsh people who have, shamefully, been let down after decades of misplaced loyalty. The wool has finally been pulled from the people’s eyes, and the truth is damning!

Labour’s days of dominance in the Senedd are numbered, and it’s no wonder—chaos reigns, with bitter infighting, abject leadership failures and a complete lack of vision. That spark, once the pride of Welsh politics, is stone dead—snuffed out by endless blunders and broken promises! And as for their supposed partners-in-failure, Plaid Cymru, they remain shackled to the poisonous internal squabbling that plagues their every move. The mask will be ripped off for all to see in the looming campaign, and voters will be left in no doubt about the state of these parties.

How could anyone trust Labour with a single penny, given their atrocious record of financial recklessness? Just look at the parade of greedy executives pocketing outrageous payouts while the county crumbles. Anthony O’Sullivan—booted out over a scandalous pay dispute—was paid handsomely to do nothing, swanning off on “gardening leave” for years, before pocketing £97,500 for his trouble! Then there’s Cristina Harrhy, who walked out with a jaw-dropping £209,000 after earning an eye-watering £148,773 in 2022–23, all while vanishing from duty for over a year! It’s obscene, it’s offensive, and it’s happening under our noses.

This litany of incompetence and the stubborn refusal to fix what’s broken—the very reasons Cllr Morgan is fleeing the scene—should anger every resident in Caerphilly. Why won’t he resign and allow a proper by-election, as any honourable leader would? Because he’s clinging to his council stipend, milking the system for every last penny! It’s a disgrace, and the people of Caerphilly deserve far better than this parade of self-serving failures.

Ian Williams was the Reform Candidate in the general Election in Torfaen, coming second with 7854 votes 22.5%  Ian now lives in Blackwood.

Ian say's...I believe that Llyr is the ideal candidate for Caerphilly, he is a very intelligent man who has had a lot of experience and a very educated individual.

Having worked alongside Llyr in the Senedd, I am positive he would be an asset for the people of  Caerphilly.

Peggy Parish

I am a Caerphilly girl, who now lives in Blackwood. Many years ago I was Miss Caerphilly and my Brother still has his business there...my Father owned a business there as well, and once owned the Snooker Club.

I do believe that Reform UK and Llyr will serve the people of Caerphilly much better after all the controversy and the council failing to manage the finances in the way they should!
